Event Description

"Bespoke Bling is the Thing" is an education component within the DGS/a Designed For Summer Soirée.

Glass artist James McLeod and metal artist Erica Moody will talk about their art, their careers, and their process for working with architects to add that special touch to residences by creating one-of-a-kind effects for sublime integration.

During this presentation, you will hear the journey that each artist took to develop and define their specific niche and what makes it unique within the realm of custom residential design. Both artists will discuss the materials and techniques that they use and how these might vary to create designs that meet the needs and desires of their clients. Discussions will include how to identify the opportunities for custom work as well as the collaborative process that evolves between artist, architect, designer, and homeowner. How to achieve that special memorable piece that resolves a challenge and brings a space together is the primary goal. You will leave this presentation with an appreciation for the art and the craft of creating a project that truly is one of a kind.

An interactive question-and-answer period plus an opportunity to meet the artists one-on-one and their art is included.
