This is a brief report on codes and regulatory activities including the status of pending legislation and Building Code / regulatory changes of interest to Owners, Developers, Architects, and Engineers. Topics include the status of Codes by Boards that oversee areas of building construction and coordination of codes (BCCC).

For this fourth session of the 2018 Codes Committee’s annual cycle of code presentations, Chris Allington of Hilti North America will focus on code and construction requirements for firestop.

Chris will discuss a number of topics related to firestop for Buildings, including understanding the “what and why;” code requirements; system testing, listings, and engineering judgments; proper specification, design, and construction of firestop; Building Code Changes; and third party firestop inspection.

As a complement to the presentation our speaker will provide a PDF to all attendees who request it.
