This is a brief report on codes and regulatory activities including the status of pending legislation and Building Code / regulatory changes under review by the Governor's Office under Exec Order 562. Topics include the status of Codes by boards that oversee all areas of building construction and the coordination of codes (BCCC).

This final session of the 2017 Codes Committee’s annual cycle of code presentations is also a first for the committee. Preparation of permit documents must specifically record code compliance of the project’s materials and systems.

Mark and Kevin will discuss how codes are referenced and not referenced in specifications and show how ICC-ES reports & industry standards are incorporated in Specifications. They will also explain the division of responsibility between owner and design in project manuals.
One very hot topic included in this presentation is how 9th Edition changes specs based on NFPA 285 compliance.
