8:30 AM to 10:00 AM Presentation: Code Problems and SolutionsGuest Speaker: Jeffrey Tubbs, PE FSFPE, Arup The topic of Code Problems is one of the most popular in our annual cycle of codes presentations. The range of issues is almost infinite. While the solutions may be obvious to the experts, sometimes the solutions are ingenious. Bring your codes questions for a lively discussion.
To start our Year of great codes presentations, Jeff Tubbs will guide us through some common challenges with a range of codes. He’ll go on to identify various code compliance pathways and illustrate understanding different ways to comply as well as alternative design solutions. While the codes provide reasonable prescriptive requirements for most building systems and components, Jeff will explain some of the codes criteria for performance-based innovative design. As a complement to the presentation Jeff will provide a PDF to all attendees who request it.
