The International Existing Building Code is essentially three codes in one, allowing designers to choose from one of three separate compliance methods: the Prescriptive Method, Work Area Method, and Performance Method. We will explore various existing building renovation projects, utilizing all three of the compliance methods, the pros and cons of each compliance method, and why it was chosen for a particular project.
