Remix The Palette is a hands-on workshop for professionals led by architect Michael Ford, also known as The Hip Hop Architect. Ford will guide design professionals through using Hip Hop–inspired prompts to create material palettes with Material Bank.

All participants must bring a laptop or iPad.

The workshop will conclude with a brief overview of The Hip Hop Architecture Camp coming to Boston in 2026 and how you can get involved!

Learning Objectives

  1. Analyze how Hip Hop–inspired prompts can inform material palettes in architectural projects.
  2. Demonstrate the use of Material Bank to select and organize materials aligned with project goals.
  3. Evaluate strategies to integrate cultural context into architectural specifications.
  4. Communicate culturally informed material concepts effectively to clients and collaborators in professional design presentations.
