State of Sustainability in Higher Education Design Today
Our BSA/SCUP 2016 kick-off meeting will focus on the state of green standards on college campuses. Our speakers, a combination of design professionals and campus-based sustainability experts, will respond to, and invite attendee response to the following questions:
- What types of sustainable buildings are currently on your campus (or do you see at your clients’ campuses): LEED-certified, Passive House, Living Building Challenge, Net Zero, Well, others.
- What are the benefits/challenges of these standards for facilities groups and end-users?
- How do campuses monitor savings and benefits associated with these standards?
- What sustainable issues or design concepts do see coming down the pike?
Our panelist include:
Joel McKellar, CBCP, LEED AP, Associate Director, Green Building Services, Harvard University Campus Services
Dr. Nakisa Alborz, LEED AP BD+C, Chair WIT Department of Interdisciplinary Engineering
Jacob Knowles, LEED AP, Director of Sustainable Design, BR+A
