New Models of Research - An example from MIT's Media Lab
System Simulation Tools to Explore Meaningful Relationships Between Society and Technology
Ira Winder builds models of sociotechnical systems and deploys them as interactive intervention simulations for learning and decision making. Users engage with an otherwise complex system by moving pieces that represent a simulation's key components. Actions are processed in real-time to give users immediate computational feedback. Demonstrative case studies leverage the Tactile Matrix, a tool for informal collaborative computation.
