LeadingAge - On the Leading Edge of the Senior Living Industry - New Orleans 2017

The November 2017 DFA meeting will focus on the LeadingAge national conference that just closed in New Orleans. With 7,000 attendees and a significant presence of architects and designers, as presenters and exhibitors, the topic of purposeful life and well-being for all took center stage.
Several Boston DFA members attended the conference and will share impressions, experiences, knowledge and, yes, photographs and videos. Halloween in New Orleans is like nowhere else in the world.
Everybody is interested in the future of senior living and what will be important to the current and future elders we serve.
The conventional wisdom in many of the educational sessions concentrated on choice to continue leading a full and meaningful life, integration in the community at large with the freedom to walk to destinations outside the confines of the senior community, technology that creates virtual communities and support and care that reaches the senior in their own home.
Joining us will be Mahsa Zahtabian, member of the winning team at the 2017 LeadingAge HackFest, a two-day event that challenges teams of 4-6 participants to “Engage with Age” by creating a technology-driven tool aimed at improving the lives of older adults and their families.

DFA meetings are open and free for all interested. Please RSVP so we can plan for refreshments.

For those who qualify, 1.5 LU/HSWs are available.
