Culture Change at South Cove Manor

South Cove Manor is one of a few Long Term Care communities that cater for seniors of Asian descent by creating programs and an environment that feels familiar and welcoming. Staff members also speak the many languages to help elders with minimum to no English, to feel at home.

After a search that lasted 10 years and 22 months of design and construction, in April 2014, 141 residents moved from the 30 year old China Town institution to their new Quincy Home.

This was not just a change of address – it was a change of attitude and took adjustment and education to become confortable, and start taking advantage of the new spaces.

This guided tour of South Cove Manor will include conversations with management and staff members, as well as residents (some through translators).

For those who qualify, 1.5 LUs/HSW are available
