Join the BEC for a tour of 585 Kendall!

585 Kendall is a 16-story state of art lab and office building that distinguishes itself by incorporating public art and cultural spaces dedicated to the community in the lower levels. The tour will focus on the building enclosure. Participants will review the primary systems, including the unitized triple-glazed curtain wall with terracotta cladding, and the structural glass system at the lower levels. We will examine how the façade transitions from a highly transparent assembly at the base to higher performance systems above.

The tour will also highlight key performance aspects of the enclosure, including air tightness, thermal performance, water management, and structural performance. In addition, we will discuss constructability strategies such as the streamlined installation of the unitized system and the quality control measures that supported the project schedule.
