Sustainability at Partners Healthcare
Monica Nakielski, Senior Program Manager, Sustainability, Partners HealthCare will provide an introduction and overview of sustainability at Partners and its affiliate hospitals. The presentation will demonstrate the importance of a systems approach in disease prevention and the role health systems and hospitals play through their furnishings and building material purchases. Monica will include a Case Study of the new Partners headquarters at Assembly Row and will focus on chemicals management using a six classes framework and approach.
The presentation will help us understand the health and environmental concerns associated with the six classes chemicals in furnishings and building products and analyze gaps in knowledge related to their safety, efficacy, and performance. Opportunities for making purchasing decisions based on the current evidence of safety, effectiveness, and cost of chemicals in furnishings and building products will be explained.
For those who qualify, 1.5 LU/HSWs are available.
