Please join BSA COTE’s spring evening symposium on Resilient Design, bringing together recent efforts in public policy, practice, and design education.
Alison Nash will open the symposium with remarks about AIA and BSA priorities for resilient design in policy, practice, and education. Amber Galko will share how Boston's work on resilient design standards, including Climate Ready Boston, can serve as template for communities to create public / private partnerships for successful interventions. Derek Anderson will share civil and environmental engineering perspectives on Climate Ready Boston and the impact it is having on local projects. Ellenzweig Architects will share project examples of integrating resilient design in New England projects. Jacob Werner and Tyler Hinckley will share their work teaching design studios at the Boston Architectural College about resilient, sustainable, and regenerative design. Betty Chen, Rohith Reddy Dumpala, and Alexis Winston will share their winning entry for the 2024 AIA COTE Top Ten for Students design competition : "Fire Station Park", located in South Boston, MA.
We anticipate a lively Q&A with the presenters, as we explore how the influence of resilient design is growing in our design community.
