This panel will explore IBA’s recently completed La CASA (Center for Arts, Self-Determination and Activism), New England’s largest Latino cultural center, located in Boston’s historic South End.
Attendees will learn about IBA’s history, its longstanding presence in the South End community, and its vision for a new cultural hub where residents, artists, neighbors, and visitors can gather, create, and celebrate culture.
Joined by IBA and general contractor D.F. Pray, the two-firm design team — STUDIO ENÉE and Annum Architects — will discuss the project’s collaborative journey from vision to realization, including concept development, stakeholder engagement, construction practices, and this year’s grand opening.
Today, La CASA celebrates Boston’s Puerto Rican and broader Latino communities while establishing a strong contemporary presence within a historic neighborhood. The project also exemplifies the city’s commitment to sustainability and resilience.
