Architect/Designer/BuilderClient: Meeting Expectations by Partnering Early on Project Development

Allison Iantosca, partner, F. H. Perry Builder, Inc., will lead a presentation on how to successfully collaborate on a project for maximum success.

Ownership of projects in today's marketplace is circular in nature. The owner, builder, designer and architect all have alternating roles as leaders and followers during the course of a project and success on a collaborative project requires an understanding that everyone involved will see things differently. Each bring different strengths and interest to the table and it is key to provide a process which encourages collaboration.

Items to be discussed that contribute to successful collaboration include:

  • Identifying project objectives and who will lead for the various items
  • Clearly scheduling both development/design and construction activities - checking in regularly
  • Talking about budgets - early and often
  • Assembling a team early in the design process. This can help provide for an informed project plan and a smooth start to construction.

For those who qualify, 1.5 LUs are available
