Sports Anchored Development

Please join the Global Practice Network for our first meeting of 2017 on Friday March 10. As part of our ongoing Project+Project series, we will be discussing Sports Anchored Development. As the populations in Asia and the Middle East have more leisure time, fans of professional sports and soccer in particular, are growing rapidly. Teams and sponsors are looking at ways to capitalize on the popularity and drawing-power of sports teams to drive profits from real estate development. We will be looking at two such projects: NBBJ will present a master plan for an International Soccer Town in Nanjing and Sasaki will present Arzanah, a reuse plan for a mixed-use district around an existing soccer stadium in Abu Dhabi. In both instances, major league football stadia are the catalysts for urban development.

For those who qualify, 1.5 LUs are available.
