Canstruction 2023

Canstruction 2023 Website Event Graphic NEW SIZE

Canstruction is a charity event and exhibition where teams of architects, designers, engineers, and contractors compete in awe-inspiring feats of engineering to create sculptures made out of canned goods and other nonperishable food items—without the use of glue or other adhesives. We are excited to partner with the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) Boston to host Canstruction this year. In the past 25 years, Canstruction Boston has collected more than ONE MILLION pounds of food, providing more than 887,000 meals to people experiencing food insecurity in Massachusetts. To learn more about the history of Canstruction Boston, please explore our online exhibition 25 years of Canstruction Boston.

The 2023 Canstruction Boston theme is "Celebrating New England!" Creations should depict the places, items, foods or personalities that make New England a unique and special place. Judges will award prizes to the finest competitors.

Interested in competing while helping people who are experiencing food insecurity? Participating teams should plan for a multi-day commitment:

  • Build day will be Saturday, October 21 (all day)
  • Deconstruction will be Saturday, November 11 (all day)

This year’s competition will once again benefit the Merrimack Valley Food Bank (MVFB) – which continues to experience increased demand – by raising awareness (and canned goods!) as well as funds.

The competition is limited to the first 15 teams who sign up and pay the registration fee on this page, so don’t delay – sign up today!

More detailed information on schedule, structure regulations, and awards will be provided to teams as they sign up, or to teams that are considering participating. Please email [email protected] for further details.
