The Treasury Relief Art Fund was created during the Great Depression to employ artists by bringing public art to distressed communities. Through this program, 1100 murals were painted in Post Offices throughout the United States. Over the past two years, I have photographed more than 250 of the remaining murals in over 30 states. The interiors of these Post Offices provide a glimpse into each community and how they’ve changed in comparison with the life depicted in the mural.
