Artist Statement

In Underpass the subject matter has been created unintentionally as a by-product of the construction of highway and railway overpasses. The territory beneath these structures is generally considered wasteland made necessary by the requirements of the traffic to be borne. I try to explore these spaces for the most satisfying light and composition they allow. I also try to make them plausibly recognizable, where any viewer might find him or herself –although possibly as a result of bad directions.
