Artist Statement
Carpenter Center, 2018, Digital photograph, $225
The Brutalist School of Architecture has been much maligned over the last 50 years. They have been called hideous, out of touch with society, ugly, grotesque and many Brutalist buildings have been torn down. I set out to show that these buildings have both strength and beauty. By using black & white prints, I have been able to strip away the extraneous environment and show the beauty in these strong structures.
