The Architecture of Time is on view through May 15, 2020

More than 100 people attended the opening reception for The Architecture of Time on January 10, 2020. Many of the attendees, including some of the 36 artists on view, were visiting BSA Space for the first time. The Architecture of Time, a juried exhibition, features photography that represents diverse perspectives on the built or designed environment dealing with time or history through an architectural lens.

Jurors included Meghan Melvin, Jean S. and Frederic A. Sharf Curator of Design in the Department of Prints and Drawings at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; Christine O’Donnell, Owner and Gallery Manager of Beacon Gallery; and Peter Vanderwarker, architectural photographer.

Opening remarks at the reception were made by Pamela de Oliveira-Smith, Managing Director of Communications at the BSA. Praise was given to the exceptional pieces of work and the artistic vision around the theme.

The Architecture of Time is the second exhibition in a five-year series of rotating photography exhibitions that will take place at BSA Space in the Storefront Gallery and second floor conference rooms. Exhibitions are expected to change every six months and will feature a roster of photographers exploring themes related to architecture, the built environment, and the power of design to transform and improve people’s lives.

BSA Space photography exhibitions foster emerging artists as well as professional photographers while sharing the impact of design and architecture with the wider world.

The next call for entries will be posted in the spring of 2020 and hopes to engage even more new photographers. Stay tuned!

Exhibitions at BSA Space, along with related programming, are made richer by the participation of Boston's artists and art-loving community. We hope you will continue to be a part of everything that happens here.
