Summer Reading

We will take a break in July and August and reconvene in September. At the June meeting we spoke about a book discussion for the first fall meeting. As many of us are involved in the performance evaluation and review process, I'm recommending "Thanks for the Feedback" by Douglas Stone and Sheila Heen, who teach at Harvard Business School. I heard Sheila Heen speak at the SHRM annual conference in Washington Dc, and was impressed. It's hard to make this topic entertaining, but she did!

Another book on my list is "Reality Based Leadership" by Cy Wakeman. Ms. Wakeman was mesmerizing on the topic of how to keep drama out of the workplace, and help people become accountable. Normally very dry stuff, but she kept it light and full of humor. have a great summer everyone!
