RememberingNov 05, 2021 Share ↗ Remembering George James Kelso Jr. AIA George James Kelso Jr. AIA died on August 26, 2021 at the age of 83. He was born to George James Kelso and Helen Crumpacker in Hamond, Indiana. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Valparaiso, Indiana. At Valparaiso High School he was vice president of his class and excelled in football and diving.Following high school, he enrolled at the University of Cincinnati where he pledged SAE. Following college, he enrolled at Harvard where he received a Master in Architecture degree. From there, he designed several prominent buildings and commercial facilities in the Boston, Vermont and New Hampshire areas. Nearing retirement, George took up painting as an artist of portraits, buildings and the outdoors, and moved to St. Augustine, Florida to be near his sister Carla Jackson. He is survived by his sister, brother-in-law, Fred Jackson and his son Kevin Kelso of Ludlow, Kentucky.He will be buried in Valparaiso, Ind. in the family plot. Remembering John Louis CummingsJohn Louis Cummings, 88, of Hudson and formerly a longtime resident of Wellesley, died on Saturday, January, 29, 2022 at the Artisan in Hudson after a long battle with Lewy body dementia. An Air Force veteran who later worked as an architect, he worked at Carl Koch in Boston and later was a partner at The Architects Collaborative in Cambridge prior to opening his own practice before retiring.RememberingFeb 09, 2022
