In today's climate of racial reckoning, it's fitting for Moody Nolan, the nation's largest African American-owned architecture firm, to be honored with the 2021 Architecture Firm Award from the American Institute of Architects (AIA). The annual award is the highest honor the AIA bestows on an architecture practice. The award recognizes a firm that has consistently produced distinguished architecture for at least 10 years. This is the first time a Black-owned architecture firm has ever received the award in the AIA's 58 years of conducting the annual recognition.

Every quarter the American Institute of Architects (AIA) provides results from the AIA Home Design Trends Survey, where hundreds of architecture firms share current project data to reveal new and emerging trends in residential design, providing an incisive look at the key features owners and buyers want—and purchase.

Hosted virtually on December 2, 2020, the 2020 Women in Design Award of Excellence ceremony featured presentations by the three awardees, Kathryn Crockett AIA, LEED AP; Lynne Deninger AIA, LEED AP BD+C; and Cheri Ruane, FASLA.

The BSA Awards Gala takes place annually, recognizing the excellent projects and people that make up our community. This year, we held a virtual Gala, and were delighted to see so many familiar names and faces on screen. It was a warm ceremony on a cold night, spent celebrating the work, achievements, and collaboration of those who make up the BSA. Congratulations to all those who were recognized at the 2021 BSA Awards Gala and to everyone who had a part to play in each of the projects awarded!

Every year, a jury of experts bestows the Harleston Parker Medal upon the the "most beautiful new structure in Greater Boston." However, their opinion is not the only one. Everyone is invited to cast a vote for their favorite in the People's Choice Award competition.

Though 2020 was a year of change, the quality of the work submitted to the Design Awards program remained as remarkable as ever. The BSA is pleased to announce the winners for the 2020 BSA Design Awards.
