Brother and Sister Houses
By Winn (age 4) and Violet (age 7)
My kids, Violet and Winn love building and design. They both take design/makerspace classes at their Montessori school and are always building with found objects at home. So when I told them about this contest, they were so excited to jump in and participate with the grown ups. They interpreted the theme in their own way. To them, "home" means to grow up and live next to one another. So they designed a neighborhood of their own houses, connected by a candy walkway. My son made a car and my daughter made an outdoor resting spot in between the homes. Their favorite part (other than eating their mistakes!) was talking about how home means family.
