On April 18, the BSA and its Urban Design Committee, the City of Boston and MassDOT hosted a participatory design workshop to generate potential design solutions for key moments of the future “Allston Esplanade,” the area that will be created as a result of the planned rebuilding of the I-90 interchange and Allston Viaduct in Boston.

Now in its 27th year, KidsBuild! was held at BSA Space on Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7, 2019. Guided by volunteer design professionals, over 600 children and adults chose a construction site from a fictional city grid, designed and built a building, and were awarded Certificates of Occupancy from the city building inspectors.

Hundreds of guests filled BSA Space to bid on artwork that was carefully curated by a jury with diverse professional backgrounds. The initial call for art went out last summer, with over 100 submissions by artists and architects throughout New England.

Deadline: March 15, 2019. BSA Space, Boston’s leading center for architecture and design extends an open invitation to artists to submit photography that represents new, creative perspectives on the built or designed environment for the upcoming juried show New Visions of Designed Environments on display from June 4, 2019 through January 3, 2020.
