“A Quarter More: Exploring Density in Metro Boston” is the theme of this year’s workshop. Teams of design professionals have joined up with municipal partners in Boston, Cambridge, and Everett to study specific focus areas in these cities and propose ideas for how to make more space for living and working, as Greater Boston’s population is quickly rising. To commemorate the midpoint of the workshop, which began in late March, the teams gathered at the Boston Society for Architecture to present their work so far.

According to the United Nations, over six million refugees have fled Ukraine since Russia invaded the country on February 24, an act of war that has drawn international condemnation. Among the people displaced is a large community of design professionals, many of whom have had their lives uprooted by the conflict. To support these individuals and their families, a team of architects based in Boston have formed Hire Ukrainian Designers.

Jill Verhosek AIA passed away surrounded by family and friends on April 30th, 2022. A Senior Associate at Goody Clancy, a Boston design firm, Jill was an essential member of the firm’s preservation practice group and the technical advisor on their most prestigious and complex projects throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.
