Sindu Meier, AIA (2025)

Biography

Sindu Meier’s firm leadership and project management achieves architectural excellence for programmatically complex buildings. She engages communities, translating many voices into a cherished civic resource. Sindu advances the next generation through education, mentorship, and advocacy.

At William Rawn Associates, Sindu has led several of the firm’s most distinguished projects, including the historic Central Library Transformation for the Boston Public Library (recipient of the 2017 Harleston Parker Medal and AIA/ALA Award) and the Taussig Cancer Center at the Cleveland Clinic. With nearly 30 years of experience in architecture, including 13 years with William Rawn Associates, Sindu has managed projects that exemplify design excellence, sustainability, and community impact. Her work on the Net-Zero Emissions and LEED v4 Platinum King Open/Cambridge Street Upper Schools and Community Complex earned both a 2022 AIA COTE Top Ten Award and a 2022 AIA Education Facility Design Award. She recently completed the South Residential Village at Case Western Reserve University, a 600-bed community enhancing the second-year student experience.

Currently, Sindu is leading the Museum of Science Blue Wing Transformation, reimagining the visitor experience to invite all to engage in “Science at the Pace of Change.” Beyond her architectural work, Sindu serves as a Library Trustee for the Town of Milton, MA, and has served on the Board of the Boston Society for Architecture. She remains deeply involved with several architectural schools as a guest lecturer, design juror, and thesis advisor. As the Inaugural Chair of the Society of Indo-American Architects and Designers, Sindu continues to champion inclusion and mentorship. She promotes design excellence and advances the profession through advocacy with the AIA/BSA and her work with civic and private institutions to create inspiring and inclusive environments for all.
